When and why was British TIPS started?
British TIPS was founded in 1994 by well-travelled Scottish-South African, Anne Hill. Having explored the United Kingdom in depth, Anne had the experience, knowledge and, above all, passion to assist South Africans, who were increasingly thirsty to visit the United Kingdom. Her dream was to provide a high-quality travel service that would be ‘big enough to cope and small enough to care’.
Today, British TIPS is still providing great service to our clients with a wider portfolio of products than ever before, having grown to specialise in the UK and Europe. And we are still big enough to cope and small enough to care.
You have the word ‘TIPS’ in your name. Can we contact you for free travel tips?
Our team puts a great deal of effort into each and every booking and attends many workshops and training sessions to stay up to date with travel trends. In order to continue providing excellent service to the clients who book with us, we cannot offer a free advisory service.
However, we aim to update our BLOG regularly with advice on some of your most frequently asked questions as well as suggested itineraries and travel tips, and this blog is free of charge for anyone to access. You can also check out our popular annual calendar of top travel events to help you plan.
Do you issue or provide advice on visas or passports?
We leave visas to the visa experts! We are, therefore, not able to assist with visa or passport applications. We recommend discussing your visa and passport requirements with your travel agent or a visa facilitation agency.
We also recommend checking the embassy websites of the countries you intend to visit, as well as those through which you will be travelling en route.
Do you book flights?
In order to provide the best service in our area of expertise – land arrangements – we leave flights to the flight experts. Your local travel agent will be able to assist you with all your flight requirements.
Where is British TIPS located?
We are a South African company located in the Northern Suburbs of the beautiful city of Cape Town. We book outbound travel from South Africa to other countries. Our team works from home-based offices.
Can we come to see you?
Following the Covid pandemic, the British TIPS team has moved to home-based offices. We can assist you with all your travel needs via email, WhatsApp or phone!
